Having returned last week from a week at Villa Oriana Relais I have also left a review on Tripadvisor but could never explain in 200 characters what an amazing place this is. The breakfasts were truly delicious. The whole place was spotlessly clean. The staff all incredibly friendly and attentive. Maria is clearly a perfectionist and has a very high standard and her staff all seem to happily conform to offering an impeccable service. I’m not sure if we were just lucky but in the week we spent here even though there was a large sun terrace with about ten well spaced and very comfortable sun beds plus an excellent jacuzzi we never saw anyone else up there, it felt like it was our private space. They are quite high up which helps with the views but adds to the calorie burning when visiting the main town, luckily there is a shortcut path that takes you down to the road that leads to Sorrento, it is quite steep in parts but the excellent air conditioning in the rooms is appreciated more on a return from the town. There were a couple of restaurants that the Villa have a deal with so they can book a table at short notice and get you a free shuttle to and from, bookable anytime you are there, we did both one by the harbour and the other further up from Sorrento town and more countrified and they were both excellent. Maria and her team offer a six star service for a reasonable price. Probably the best recommendation for a restaurant in Sorrento is in the town centre and was a Tardis of a place called Ristorante Parrucchiano Favoririta which as been there since 1868 and has the most amazing gardens with loads of tables around them, truly beautiful and totally unexpected from the front of the venue, it’s enormous but I’d advise you book prior to flying, we managed to get a table we only booked 3 days before but I think it was a cancellation so we were lucky. Back to VOR it really is a one off, excelling on every level. A fantastic find we will definitely be returning again, thank you!
Very quiet area where you can rest perfectly! The owner Maria is a very good host and cooks some delicious tarts and more (the orange jam is so good). The view is very beautiful. I had a very pleasant stay and I am not easy to please! Thank you Maria!
Siete mai arrivati in un posto dove avete lasciato il cuore e che proprio non riuscite a dimenticare? Io si, e ve lo voglio raccontare. Oggi voglio fare un post diverso, mi è tornato in mente un ricordo meraviglioso, dove siamo stati la scorsa estate, presi da una voglia matta di respirare un po’ di libertà, in tutti i sensi, dopo un anno incredibile, come quello di ognuno. Ci siamo convinti a fare il viaggio in Costiera Amalfitana che tante volte avevamo rimandato, cominciando da Sorrento, ed è proprio di questa meraviglia che vado a raccontarvi. Cosa ci ha insegnato questa gabbia in cui siamo stati costretti da quel Marzo 2020, se non quanto sia importante godersi tutto? Quanto sia importante fare quella telefonata che continuiamo a rimandare, partire per quel viaggio che vogliamo fare, mangiare in quel posto che ci piace tanto? Abbiamo capito che non sempre si ha il tempo e la “libertà” di farlo quando vogliamo. Siamo partiti certi che sarebbero stati giorni belli, ma quello che abbiamo trovato è stato molto di più. Quei posti in cui appena arrivata subito pensi al “Qui ci dobbiamo assolutamente tornare”. Sorrento è una perla, chi ha avuto la fortuna di passare di là lo sa già, ma c’è un fiore all’occhiello che si chiama Villa Oriana Relais, che ha reso davvero unici quei giorni. Si chiama Villa Oriana, ma per noi è “Casa della Signora Maria”. Che posto meraviglioso, e che atmosfera! Ti sembra di poter avvicinare le mani tra loro e racchiuderci dentro tutta l’essenza e l’autenticità di Sorrento e della sua gente. “Ecco da dove vengono i capolavori di Lucio Dalla e Peppino Di Capri…” L’ho pensato appena mi sono affacciata dalla terrazza meravigliosa dove la Signora Maria ospita quei fortunati che l’hanno trovata, a godere delle sue colazioni fatte di amore e tradizione, dal sapore inconfondibile di casa. Villa Oriana guarda tutto il Golfo di Sorrento, a perdita d’occhio si arriva al mare passando per limoneti, alberi da frutta, campi di ogni qualsivoglia prelibatezza, storia, tradizione e vita vera sotto quel sole magico e profumato. Si, a Sorrento anche il sole ha il suo profumo, ve lo posso assicurare. Pavimento bianco e nero, un lungo tavolo in legno al centro con su un vaso di ceramica con ortensie azzurre e lilla (le stesse dei miei ricordi di bambina, quelle che mia nonna curava ogni giorno nel nostro giardino di Roma), una vetrata che sembra incorniciare un quadro col mare, la terrazza che fonde l’azzurro del cielo e del mare. Sono scorci commoventi, non mi viene in mente un altro aggettivo, non lo so sembra di sentire parole in musica nell’aria. Nel silenzio e nella bellezza più sconvolgente, le parole di Caruso del grande Maestro, un piatto caprese bianco con i ricami blu, pomodoro e mozzarella appena arrivati, l’aria fresca e frizzantina del mattino, le barche a vela che vanno verso Capri, le voci del lavoro frenetico della giornata già iniziata di buon’ora, e gli occhi che si bagnano d’emozione. Credetemi non esagero, era un quadro che parlava quello che avevo davanti agli occhi. Ero in silenzio come davanti allo spettacolo più incredibile, all’opera d’arte più maestosa. Lo so che io amo le piccole cose, le cose semplici, scruto i piccoli particolari, e mi emoziono per queste, eppure là, chiunque, nessuno escluso, deve aver capito quale musica e quale incanto sentisse nel cuore Lucio Dalla, cosa vedesse davanti agli occhi quando le parole di Caruso uscivano una dopo l’altra. Anche se, nulla sarebbe stato lo stesso a Villa Oriana se la Signora Maria non fosse la Signora Maria. Si sveglia al mattino e prepara una Torta Caprese da brividi, e la serve ancora tiepida su quei piatti meravigliosi che sanno di mare e di storia. E poi ti invita a provare i suoi pomodori rossi come il fuoco che sembrano disegnati sul blu del piatto, con la mozzarella appena arrivata. È come essere invitati a casa sua. Di quelle persone e quei posti che ti dispiace lasciare quando devi andar via. Vi lascio qualche foto che racconta meglio di me l'incanto di questo posto. Si, a Sorrento ci ho lasciato un pezzo di cuore!
Villa meravigliosa con vista mozzafiato sul mare di Sorrento. Quello che leggete in queste recensioni é tutto vero. L'ambiente é particolare, ti senti subito stranamente a casa, avvolto dai sapori e profumi ( pazzeschi...) della cucina della titolare, la sig.ra Maria. L'organizzazione e la professionalitá di tutto lo staff sono perfette ma tutto sempre all'insegna della massima semplicitá, disponibilitá e soprattutto grande empatia e attenzione . Diciamo che , dopo un anno di lavoro , é il miglior trattamento "anti stress" che potessimo trovare! Un meraviglioso incrocio tra un Hotel a 5 stelle ed un caldo agriturismo con un tocco di rara e naturale unicitá . Grazie davvero per i bei momenti che ci avete regalato. Davide e Bea
When looking for a last minute to stay in Sorrento, we booked a night at Villa Oriana, and we are so glad we did, it was a unique experience! Arriving at the villa, we were welcomed by friendly staff who offered us homemade lemonjuice and cake while checking in. Our room was beautiful and very clean. We enjoyed the stunning views on the terrace while relaxing in the jacuzzi. In the morning we had the honor to meet the owner who let us taste all the delicious cakes and quiches she made herself! We even received the recipes afterwards. This is truly the place to stay while making your way down the Amalfi Coast!

Penso che sia davvero difficile trovare una struttura dove tutto sia così perfetto: al momento della prenotazione avevamo già un'ottima impressione ma dal vivo è stata più che confermata. Appena si varca il cancello di ingresso e si attraversa lo splendido giardino di limoni si realizza di trovarsi in un posto dove nulla è lasciato al caso. Lo staff ti accoglie con gentilezza e professionalità offrendo l'igenizzazione dei bagagli e una bevanda di benvenuto, dopodiché ti ragguaglia su tutto. La vista è mozzafiato, sia dal balcone in cui viene servita la colazione, che dal terrazzo dove c'è la Jacuzzi. La nostra camera aveva la vista sia sul giardino che sul mare: SPETTACOLARE! La Sig.ra Maria è una perfetta padrona di casa e in cucina non si batte: l'offerta della colazione spazia dal dolce al salato facendo concorrenza ai grandi hotel. Una menzione speciale va alle ragazze dello staff, davvero preparate e sempre garbate, in particolare Maddalena sempre attenta a coccolare i clienti. Torneremo sicuramente perché ci siamo sentiti in famiglia. A presto! Non ci sono difetti, siete stati una sorpresa graditissima!

Sin dall'arrivo siamo stati colpiti dalla bellezza ed eleganza della villa e dall'infinita gentilezza del personale. Una struttura incantevole, immersa nella natura e curata nei minimi dettagli, super pulita, ed impeccabile. Maddalena e la Signora Maria sono state carinissime, sempre disponibili e super gentili! Colazione con prodotti freschi eccezzionale, su una terrazza con vista incantevole.. Felici di aver scoperto una perla nascosta nel cuore di Sorrento.. ci ritorneremo sicuramente!
If you are looking for an exceptional Getaway, I highly recommend Villa Oriana Relais. The owners Maria and Pasquale you can't fault them in anything. Ferdinando and Madelena and the other members of staff are always willing to go the extra mile just to make sure your stay is the best you ever had. From the decor in the rooms, the breakfast(the amazing tasty cakes by Maria), the views from the balcony, the jacuzzi area and the beautiful sunset while enjoying a local glass of wine are spectacular. Siamo arrivati, come ultima tappa, a Villa Oriana in moto dopo una tre giorni sulla costiera amalfitana. Ho soggiornato in vari Hotel ma qui sono arrivato a casa. Accolti da un ambiente elegante e dalla gentilezza fatta persona di Maddalena. Abbiamo conosciuto la Signora Maria vero punto di forza di Villa Oriana. La struttura rasenta la perfezione, pulizia, ambienti e camere signorili tutto arredato con gusto, il silenzio della natura. La colazione preparata in casa con prodotti freschi dove c'è solo l'imbarazzo della scelta viene servita di fronte al panorama del golfo di Napoli allietata dalla compagnia della Signora Maria. Siamo felici di aver trovato questa piccola perla che per noi ora diventa punto di riferimento. Un grazie a tutto lo staff che permette questa eccellenza.
We stayed 3 nights & have been amazed at what a magical place. The grounds, the rooms, the staff & the food are exceptional. The attention to detail from the room decorations to the breakfast dishes & food is unbelievable. Everyone working here is so helpful & friendly. We have stayed in 6 different hotels in Italy & while they have all been very nice, this one is most special to us. If we ever come back to Amalfi Coast this will be our home base! Thank you Maria & all the staff!?
Arrivo a Villa Oriana con famiglia verso sera dopo faticosa ascesa al Vesuvio e veniamo accolti sulla terrazza vista mare con dolcetti e limonata fresca fatta con i limoni del rigoglioso giardino, che assaporiamo nella vasca idromassaggio posta sul solarium, ammirando un meraviglioso tramonto sul golfo di Sorrento e di Napoli. Camera ampia per quattro e ben arredata, pulizia impeccabile, colazione vista mare con prodotti realmente casalinghi e ceramiche inglesi, chiacchierando con la gentilissima proprietaria. Esperienza indimenticabile in una location da sogno, in posizione panoramica ma non distante dal centro cittadino.

We stated one night during busy tourist period. The property is ideally located away from crowds, but still reachable to main attractions. The view is amazing and the breakfast is served right at the terrace. Breakfast choice is more than enough, table setting is a piece of art by itself. The room is spotlessly clean and bright. We loved design and comfort. Staff is helpful and ready with advice and bottle of wine if needed ))) lemon trees around and free parking is a great bonus for travelers with cars. If we ever at this part of the Italy, this is definitely our place to stay

It was a marvellous stay at your hotel. The reciption was so friendly. We have got lemon lemonde and cake! It was so good. The view at the golf of Napoli was so great. Perfetto!
Villa Oriana is pure luxury in a quiet setting with spectacular views of the Bay of Naples. The welcome from owner Maria and her staff was warm and friendly with an attention to detail and personal service you will only experience in top quality establishments. A birthday cake was produced for my daughter - they had noticed her birthday on her passport - a lovely surprise! Fabulous home cooking and huge variety daily for breakfast - no carton juice here, only freshly squeezed! Villa Oriana has an agreement with four top dollar restaurants in Sorrento and they provide free return transport ....as does Tirabuscio cookery school which was a great experience too. For the disabled guest Villa Oriana has only one step at the entrance and to the dining room/terrace and one accessible room with fabulous spacious shower room. The accommodation was very stylish and spotless. I could not recommend Villa Oriana highly enough.
My wife and I stayed for 3 days but we should have stayed for 2 weeks. This is an outstanding bed and breakfast. From the moment you arrive at this amazing property you are cared for by Maria and her staff. Nothing is overlooked to make your stay memorable. The lemon and orange trees growing through out the property are used in many of their desserts. The breakfast each morning is nothing short of fantastic. The view morning or evening from the decks are incredible. You can see all of Sorrento, Naples and and also Mt Vesuvius. This place is amazing and worth your consideration if plan a trip to the Amalfi Coast. *****
We stayed at Villa Oriana for a 2nd time because we loved it so much. The second time was even better and Maria’s baking and breakfasts were amazing. The views of Napoli was just a fabulous from the jacuzzi during the day as the were from our patio at night as everything lit up. We recently stayed at Villa Oriana June 2017 for five nights and simply loved it. Our room with balcony and sea view was amazing. We would like to thank Maria and her wonderful staff for making our stay so memorable. We really did feel part of the family and hope to return.
Abbiamo soggiornato in questo posto stupendo!!! Beh che dire è stato tutto ottimo, dalla professionalità e la gentilegga di Milena che ci ha accolto come fosse casa sua, camera molto grande è pulitissima, colazione da favola con veduta sul golfo di Napoli, e poi la jacuzzi in terrazza, un sogno spero proprio di tornare presto
Sono stato ospite di questa struttura la scorsa settimana, soggiorno splendido e rilassante, camera spaziose e pulita, jacuzzi da favola su un terrazzo con panorama mozzafiato. Premetto che abito in provincia di Napoli, spesso cerco posti della nostra penisola dove passare qualche fine settimana e devo essere onesto questo per adesso è stato il miglior weekand da me trascorso. Colazione di una bontà immane hanno reso il soggiorno ancora più piacevole.
La cortesia del personale, la straordinaria posizione in un incantevole limonaia, l'idromassaggio sul terrazzo di fronte ad uno stupendo panorama, la colazione abbondante e ricca di prodotti fatti in casa
We have just returned from our trip to the Amalfi coast. 10/16. Villa Oriana Relais was the best decision we made. It is charming, the views are amazing and the rooms comfortable and spotless. Their property and garden are lush. We have not had such wonderful staff at our disposable. Maria's breakfast is not to be missed. Sorrento is a lovely town and day trips are easy from there. We miss our "Italian family". I do love the Plaza in NY and the calm and peace in Villa Oriana Relais I love also!

Welcomed with a fresh lemonade juice and home baked caprese cake. Location is spot on - 25 minute walk to Sorrento old town and 15 minute walk to Sant Agnello station. Relaxing Jacuzzi with a wonderful view. Fabulous breakfast with homemade cakes. Clean, comfortable and large rooms with balcony and sea view. Maria and all the staff are extremely helpful.

Eccellente struttura, eccellente vista, eccellente personale, lo consiglierò a tutti! I profumi e l'aria che si respirano a Sorrento sono estremamente emozionanti, poi se si soggiorna in una struttura così, tutto diventa una favola indimenticabile!!!

This is an outstanding place to stay, a beautiful hideaway at the top of the hills giving an amazing view in a peaceful and relaxing location. To me this surpasses even some of the much more expensive 5 star hotels i have stayed in, i very much look forward to returning. The owner is a very pleasant and dedicated - ( even though i had to wake her when I arrived at 1AM! ) hospitable and entertaining - who seriously knows her good food - & her staff were absolutely delightful. Enjoy even a rooftop Jacuzzi and open fire burning in the breakfast room. Checkout upto 12 noon an added bonus. The breakfast is fantastic, you are spoilt with a vast variety not to mention freshly squeezed orange juice from the orange grove growing outside, and only the very best freshly home baked cakes you will ever taste. And to top it off, the stay was a very low price. Thank you for making me feel most welcome
Die beste Unterkunft unserer 14 tägigen Reise durch Italien mit 10 verschiedenen Hotels. Perfekte Gastfreundschaft, man fühlt sich wie auf Besuch bei Freunden auch beim ersten Aufenthalt. Perfekte Aussicht und sehr leckeres Frühstück mit viel selbst gemachten Köstlichkeiten.

Villa Hotel située sur les hauteurs de Sorrento qui gagne réellement à être connue ! pour son calme, son intimité, ses odeurs d'orangers en fleurs, sa vue magnifique, la propreté des lieux et la gentillesse de la maîtresse de maison et des filles qui l'assistent. Un réel effort de décoration - table du petit déjeuner dressée tel un 5 étoiles avec la simplicité en plus ! sans oublier la qualité du buffet proposé : aussi varié, sain, que savoureux. Tous ces éléments concourent au sentiment de bien-être qui règne ici. Ce fût notre meilleure adresse du petit road trip sur la côte, que nous ne sommes pas prêt d'oublier !

Soggiorno perfetto. l'accoglienza di Maria, la proprietaria, è quella di una persona appassionata al suo lavoro, attenta agli ospiti e entusiasta. Di meglio non poteva capitarci. posizionata in Sorrento, la villa offre una splendida vista vesuvio ed è immersa negli aranceti,tranquillità, letti comodissimi, colazione con delizie fatte in casa. Assolutamente da ripetere!

Abbiamo trascorso un weekend a sorrento il 10 aprile in questo posto fantastico, di una tranquillità e vista panoramica che ti lascia senza parole . Volevo ringraziare tutto lo staff che ne fa parte per il modo in cui ci hanno accolto dall'inizio fino alla fine ed un saluto particolare alla signora Maria per la sua bontà, gentilezza e modo di fare nei confronti dei clienti, senza parlare dei dolci che fa che sono squisiti. La suite era fantastica, il solarium bellissimo con tanto di vasca idromassaggio che però andrà in funzione dal 1 maggio e la colazione da 10 e lode, sia per quanto riguarda il dolce che il salato. Ci rivedremo presto. Un saluto.

Our first family holiday in Italy. We chose this hotel because of the reviews. We could not have been happier. The hotel and the people and the location were perfect. Our children have not stopped talking about Maria and all of the staff there as they were so lovely to them all week, they cannot do enough for you and are always ready to help with a smile. The breakfasts are amazing so much so that you cannot help but have more each time. You know you have made the right choice when the driveway to the hotel is surrounded by fruit trees and the aroma they give you is amazing. Only bettered by the aroma of the freshly baked cakes and pastries that greet you each morning, and the views whilst you eat breakfast.... wow! What a fantastic place.

Words cannot express how lovely an experience staying here was. From the initial greeting at the front door, to the amazing breakfasts, to the exceptional hospitality, to the reluctant goodbye, our stay at Villa Oriana was unforgettable. Maria truly opens her house to you. You enter as guests but leave as friends.
Beautiful boutique getaway! Our only regret was not staying more nights here. Upon arrival we were welcomed with a complimentary slice of homemade lemon cake and a sparkling lemon drink. We were then given a tour of the facility and our room. Our 1 bedroom, 1 bath room was located on the bottom floor. There was no elevator but they have staff who are more than happy to bring your luggage up and down for you. Our room was adorable and simple. We enjoyed the private porch that was enclosed with a large jasmine plant. The villa is a large 'cottage' filled with many doors which lead to various other guest rooms. The main level has a large kitchen where Maria and her staff do all the cooking, a common area and terrace for all to enjoy. After a wonderful dinner recommendation by the staff, which included a shuttle ride to and from, we enjoyed a night cap...or 2...with other hotel guests in the common area. In the morning, Maria and her staff cooked a wonderful breakfast. By far the BEST homemade mozzarella and cakes I've ever had! There was a little rain around noon, so we ordered a bottle of wine from their kitchen and sat in the common area and enjoyed the views before walking through the property. The property itself is worth wandering. Its lined with lemon trees, rosemary, grape vines and beautiful flowers!
Partiti da casa x restare 2 giorni alla fine abbiamo prenotato x un terzo e purtroppo ripartiti a malincuore con il magone. Siamo stati accolti con cortesia e gentilezza dallo staff ( Le "3M" sono un marchio di garanzia...cosi' da noi soprannominate per via della stessa iniziale), nonché coccolati tra mille carinerie, dolcezze e colazioni super, consumate all'aperto sulla terrazza ultra-panoramica che affaccia sul golfo partenopeo.Mille grazie a tutte soprattutto alla "SIGNORA" di casa che con le sue parole sulla nostra bimba c'ha fatto sentire orgogliosi di essere prima genitori e poi turisti.

We were greeted personally at the door. Invited to sit on the terrace where the view is divine. We were served a freshly made cake and lemonade made with frozen lemon cubes. The room we had was the largest we had at any hotel in Italy. It was very clean. We had our own balcony. Very private with oranges lemons and olives hanging over us. Each morning there was at least 4 freshly made savoury pies/croissants/cakes plus homemade condiments The grounds were beautiful. I would highly recommend! Oh and they send you all the recipes as a farewell thank you gift!
